i've been the laziest blogger ever. i apologize. i promise i'll do better. starting right now!

technical difficulties.

i have been experiencing all kinds of problems with technology lately. my phone stopped working, the replacement was a dud, george's computer power cord shorted out. i was with no phone and no internet for 2 days straight. whew! it was intense. you would think i would have sewn a whole bunch, but something was always coming up, working at the salon or cleaning, but i'm ready to get back to it. sewing, that is.

i'm definitely going to sew today or this evening. i feel and all-nighter coming. i went back to the fabric store and got some red and green for tomatoes and kale. i figure i can make a little felt basket and put a carrot, tomato, and a crinkly kale leaf in it. cute? i think so. if one sews an old (washed) piece or two of a chip bag inside, viola! crinkles!
now if i can just find time, focus and make these things.........

i'm feeling lethargic today. i slept late-ish and feel like eating some leftover beef stew from last night....with scrambled eggs maybe? ho hum.......i think i'll put off the day's sewing until later. i can play with adella.  maybe i'll work on a new project...like a summer dress for adella. and i thought i could just make two at the same time. one for her, one for etsy. oh my etsy account! gotta get that all set up too. whew.

i made this cute ribbon blankie, but it didn't come out as finished as i had hoped. i think i know a little baby boy that might like it......

 my machine has been knotting up, a cleaning was in order.

there are many sides to a nature's burger.

i made these last night and they were awesome! i had this idea as i was putting adella to bed. i took nature's burger mix from open harvest and mixed it up, spread it on tortillas, sliced them and fried them in olive oil. we dipped them in sour cream and annie's green goddess dressing. real tasty and real easy!

so the bloomers did NOT go well. i ended up with some for adella, not perfect. i thought my plan might make them easier to make, but alas, no. so i spent a lot of time trying to just get one pair done. they are almost too small so i'll have to remember that for later. but i've moved on from the bloomer fiasco.....

adella had some banana for lunch. yummy. the dogs had a barking contest with the neighbor's little yappers. and i'm trying to sew some bloomers. but....i am altering the pattern to make them lined and i goofed up and sewed the whole ball of wax shut. i'm opening up some stitches, wondering if just cutting new pieces would be quicker........coffee might help.

la tapitia with aunt susie tonight! it was tasty! adella is fully highchair capable, so it's fun. the waiter freaked me out by waving the hot plates over her head. i ordered sizzling fajitas, of course. i was so hungry i was seeing spots. somehow my day didn't allow for much food. just an ice cream date with my nephew, owen. he really likes trains. he REALLY loves trains.

i had a great idea last night for baby toys! i don't know why i haven't thought of it before. although....this new idea means another trip to the fabric store. good thing i had a couple clients today. :)

ok. so i'll take a day off from sewing. i did work at the salon today for a few hours. my "real" job. when i said i would make three blankies tonight i had forgotten that one should pre-wash and dry the fabrics. oops. that said, between the dog bath, a baby with an everlasting winter virus, and these hunger pains.......i'd better call it a night.

just got home from my fabric shopping!! there was a good sale at hancock and i really needed a few springy  fabrics. the plan for the night is to make some tag blankies. maybe three? that might be a bit ambitious, but i think the key here is to sew everyday like it's my job. maybe if i pretend it is my job, someone will just start paying me. like on seinfeld.
got the debit card in the mail. but i need my pin to activate it. which wasn't in the mail. of course.

 one of two dogs at our house needs a bath and i know who it is. poor guy! i hope he doesn't know how bad he smells. he is getting a bath tonight and he weighs like, 77 lbs. his name is goehner.
just realized i was putting on flip flops with leg warmers. very stylish indeed.

what's in a name.......

i HAVE to figure out a name for my etsy store today. i have been putting it off because i can't seem to find the perfect name. i also have over-thought it to the point where i'm coming up with really stupid names...... i just need to name it! this naming process has turned into a monster!

gosh. a blog.

this is so weird. maybe it seems weird because i'm exhausted. no....blogs are weird. but i'm going to try my hand at blogging. who knows? maybe i'll be a natural. today i made a couple hats and a waterproof laundry bag for diapers. i also made adella some rice cereal with organic rice from open harvest. she made the worst yucky faces but when i added some banana she ate it up. then she had her first food coma. i was so proud.
